As owner of Global Motion Fitness LLC, I am committed to offering conscientious and evidence based services in order to create a high quality, safe and supportive program for my clients.  I also find it important to create an atmosphere that is welcoming for all levels of ability.  My goal is to create an environment and fitness program that encourages clients to move and have fun while working toward increasing and sustaining their well-being and function.

I have been in the field of prevention, health education, fitness and public health for over 12 years within the University of New Mexico's Prevention Research Center.  My experience is in design, implementation and evaluation of various physical activity, nutrition and wellness interventions for children and older adult populations within the area of obesity and type II diabetes prevention.  Working in the area of public health and prevention  also requires strong presentation skills for speaking at conferences in order to communicate and inform professionals about program and research outcomes, needs and recommendations.

I have also worked for 2 years at various clinical and community based organizations as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, which required design and instruction of exercise and dance programs for people with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, stroke paralysis, traumatic brain injuries and developmental disabilities. Some other types of fitness instruction experiences I have include teaching skiing in Durango, Colorado and offering guided bike tours based out of Stowe, Vermont.

I began my fitness career when I started training with Morris Johnson,  a master dancer trained by the Alvin Ailey Dance Academy.  While dancing with the Chuck Davis Afro Modern Dance Ensemble, I decided to pursue a career in public health and take various dance classes in flamenco, ballet and Brazilian samba to keep my passion for dance alive.  Growing up in a Jewish family who went to temple and danced Jewish Klezmer dances every week, as well as being surrounded by all types of people in Los Angeles, I became extremely interested in different cultures and wanted to learn more about the music, dance, and foods from around the world.  This is where Global Motion Fitness arose from!
